Redeem Team

I have been meaning to write this for a while, but congrats Redeem Team on the gold. It was great to see all those incredible players playing as one and showing the world that they are the best. But credit has to go to the one who brought them together as one team, who made them make a three year commitment to practice and play as one, and who could bring all those egos under one roof and make one ego. The ONLY person who could do that is Coach Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K). It was amazing to listen to the players in interviews about the difference between this team and the bronze medal winners of 2004. This time they talked about us and we and not I. They talked about teamwork, being apart of something bigger than one person, and acheiving one goal, GOLD!

That all screams the coaching brilliance of Coach K. You can hear that from Duke players all the time. For K to come in and do that with professional athletes is amazing and give everyone reason to see why he is the best coach in the country. Kobe Bryant said, "[Coach K] is everything I thought he would be and more. I have been excited and waiting for this opportunity for a long time. Playing for him now, you realize why he is such a great coach. He communicates extremely well with his players. He’s very intense and has a passion for what he does and he has a great sense of humor."

I think the image that says a thousand words is when the players all placed their medals around his neck for a picture opp. What other coach could do that?
