I am sure that many of you have heard about this movie coming out at the end of this month. As I have been preparing for my sermon this Sunday I have noticed that it is one about every religious website I go to. They are truly pushing this as a religious film and I don't remember this push as big when Bruce Almighty came out. They have study material for your church to do with youth groups and kids groups and even adults. There is a REAL BIG PUSH to fill the seats in the theaters.
Now Bruce Almighty is one of my favorite theolgoical films. It speaks milestones about free will and God's desire for us to love him. I have been invited, like many other religious professionals in the Charlotte area to partake in a sneak peak of Evan Almighty tonight. I am heading, with my wife, sister and brother-in-law to indulge ourselves on a FREE summer movie sneak peak. I cannot lie, I am excited, but I am also weary.
With all the pulbicity and hype, will it live up to my ministerial expectations? Or will it fall flat? I'll write a review in my next post and let you know if I recommend this to all two of my readers to go and see it.
