Excited for Lent

For the first time in four years I have the privilege of preaching all the way through Lent and Holy Week. Four years prior to this I was an associate minister and thus I was only given one Sunday and Lent and Palm Sunday (if I was lucky). This year though, every week is mine to create and carve out the Word of God for the people of God. My Worship Team has helped me plan out the services and now we can simply sit back and 'enjoy' the preparation. It will be an honor to prepare my congregation. It will be humbling to let God work through mean in this holy season.

Lord, move me aside and let your light shine. Let my words not be mine and my tongue be still. Gracious God, enable me to be transparent, in order that my congregation see you and not me. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Guide me. Mold me. I am clay and you are the potter. Thy will be done. Amen
